Test 53. The equivalent intrapersonal conflict is

Intrapersonal conflict

If internal contradictions arise, this is necessarily due to a number of reasons. These symptoms never appear out of nowhere.

Causes and symptoms of contradictions

It is worth considering just a few conditions that can lead to such a combination of circumstances:

  1. The man is dissatisfied with his life. At the same time, there is often a feeling that there is nothing inside, that you are completely broken. There is also a sense of hopelessness in the situation, which is often based on insignificant facts. Basically, this condition occurs because a person loses faith in his own abilities, which negatively affects his progress. Since there is dissatisfaction with his life, the person considers it unnecessary to change anything in it. At the same time, limiting beliefs arise in terms of the fact that no one needs him, or that he does not have special gifts. This leads to a reluctance to take certain actions or make certain decisions. It will take a lot of time to realize your own unsettledness and understand that a lot depends on negative energy.

  2. Unrealization. Sometimes it turns out that the desire to live the way you want ends in a personal conflict, since there is not always an opportunity to realize the inherent potential. For one, external reasons become an obstacle, for another - some obstacles that arise on the way to achieving what they want. This is how misunderstanding with oneself arises. A person who is unable to understand what the goal actually is cannot set priorities, and therefore is not able to take the right step. This is quite a big problem, because personal growth does not occur, and the person begins to conflict with himself. This leads to missed opportunities to achieve what you want.
  3. Low self-esteem. Sometimes a person, due to certain reasons, loses faith in his own abilities. Most often, this is due to improper upbringing, when parents raise their offspring too strictly and do not give them the opportunity to make their own decisions. The conflict is destructive and arises when one’s aspirations and desires are suppressed, and lasts for quite a long time. During this period, if a person does not feel for the path along which he will be able to get out of the crisis state, he can turn into a comrade who is indifferent and callous to everything around him.

Types and forms of manifestation

Any conflict must be resolved, for example, through provocation. The types of this contradiction are able to show the reason due to which the conflict arose and later formed. Often, a harmonious inner feeling can be destroyed by the occurrence of even a small obstacle in life. The adaptation period after this is difficult. The forms of manifestation of intrapersonal conflicts are:

  1. Equivalent. At the same time, a person wants to remain in comfortable conditions for himself and at the same time achieve an important goal. Basically, this state of affairs arises when the need arises to choose between what was previously and what is now. At the same time, the individual has to force himself to reconsider the state of affairs; the situation is further aggravated by the fact that the values are equivalent. A person thinks for a long time, afraid to step in the wrong direction. With it, you have to choose one event and reject another, no less significant.
  2. Vital. It arises against the backdrop of unpleasant obligations that an individual has to take on. The vital type is characterized by a loss of interest in himself and in what he previously did with great pleasure. A person exhausts himself with constant searches so as not to make a mistake in the right step. Most often, a specific action subsequently turns out to be balanced and thoughtful. Conflict is present because one has to choose between equally unprofitable solutions, and most often the choice is made in favor of the one that promises fewer losses.
  3. Ambivalent. At the same time, a person is practically unable to make a choice on his own. An intrapersonal conflict occurs; an example of this is the inability to take decisive steps because there is a fear of making a mistake. The ambivalence of the situation lies in the fact that the goal creates a certain attraction and at the same time repels. Failure to resolve the conflict in a timely manner will lead to additional suffering due to the fact that the person was unable to realize himself.
  4. Frustrating. In this case, a conflict arises, since some individual actions cause disapproval in society. In this case, it becomes impossible to take certain steps to achieve what you want. We are not talking about any choice here. This leads to a struggle with oneself. Such people are prone to intrapersonal conflicts and suicidal behavior.

Thus, we can distinguish different forms of manifestation and methods of resolving conflicts are also different.

How to resolve conflict

This situation is very dangerous . A conflict with oneself does not allow a person to be individual, while all his talents and abilities are not revealed. When in this state, he seems to live, fenced off from everyone. At the same time, suffering becomes a constant faithful companion of a person. It is necessary to find a form of manifestation and ways to resolve intrapersonal conflict as soon as possible in order to reveal your true capabilities; this will also help in establishing relationships with people around you. After overcoming this, a world of new opportunities immediately opens up, which for a number of reasons remained unnoticed.

Basic methods

There are several ways to resolve internal conflict:

  1. Compromise. Internal contradiction in psychology means that a compromise has not been reached within the individual. Therefore, it is necessary to work to get rid of shortcomings and generally try to eradicate them. Many conflict situations were resolved precisely through compromise. You should choose the right traits in yourself that will really be useful. They are inherent in the character of every person from the very beginning; you just need to highlight them and try to use them. In this case, the conflict will be minimized, which will lead to its disappearance.
  2. It is important to highlight all your greatest strengths, which are naturally present in every person. Often a person belittles his own achievements and victories; this should never be done. With such a position in life, it becomes possible to complain that there are not enough opportunities. But they are available almost everywhere, the main thing is to be able to see them. Conflict often occurs because a person unfairly evaluates himself. Therefore, it is worth looking at whether you may be diminishing your own capabilities. If you can recognize your strengths, this will not only help in resolving this situation, but will also improve your life, and new bright colors will appear in the world. You should realize that human life itself is priceless, which means that you are also a kind of significant component of it. When realizing this, a person will be able to immediately notice how the attitude of relatives, friends or work colleagues towards him will change; there will no longer be offensive expressions addressed to him. It should be firmly known that a strong personality is one who has realized his inner world and was able to learn to respect himself for who he is. If a person values himself, then others will treat him the same.
  3. Understand that everyone in this world has their own purpose. A person who is in conflict with himself is always in an exhausted state of mind. It can be compared to a battle where there are no winners. Sometimes people tend to shift responsibility for their own destiny onto anyone, just so as not to put it on themselves. Only awareness of why you actually exist can turn a person towards you. At the same time, the individual becomes more confident and does not allow someone else’s opinion to be imposed on himself. In order to find peace and become happy, you should do what you love, it will help you find inspiration for new achievements, and will also give you a charge of positive feelings. At the same time, a desire will arise to strive for something more, and this will teach you to cope with obstacles, thereby resolving the internal conflict.

Acute internal confrontation often leads to conflicts at work and in the family circle . The person becomes more aggressive and irritable. This often leads to sad consequences, sometimes even suicide. Therefore, it is important to take timely measures to eliminate internal conflicts.

Any internal contradictions must be resolved . At the same time, there will be an opportunity to grow as a person. You need to give it your all, only then will the result be truly obvious. It is important not to hide from problems and deal with internal disagreements in a timely manner; only in this way will you be able to overcome all difficulties and move through life with great strides.
