Afobazol - instructions, use, analogues of the drug

Indications

Afobazole is prescribed for the treatment of anxiety conditions, in particular:

  • generalized anxiety disorders;
  • neurasthenic conditions;
  • violations of adaptive functions in patients with dermatological, somatic and oncological pathologies;
  • in combination with other medications for the treatment of sleep disorders, neurocirculatory dystonia, alcoholism and other pathologies.

Analogues of Afobazole can be considered drugs that have identical indications for use.

Adaptol

This drug is one of the most popular analogues of Afobazole. And also belongs to the group of ananxiolytics (tranquilizers). The main active ingredient of Adaptol is mebicar (tetramethyltetraazabicyclooctanedione).

In the process of influencing the hypothalamus (emotiogenic zones), as well as the main neurotransmitter complexes, it restores their balance and integration (without peripheral adrenergic blocking effects). Adaptol also exhibits nootropic properties.

During drug therapy, the state of anxiety, restlessness and emotional stress is reduced, the patient's mood improves, attention and mental performance increase.

The drug belongs to the group of analogues and can replace Afobazol, since it is prescribed for the treatment of the following pathologies:

  • for neuroses, irritability, feelings of anxiety and restlessness, various fears.

Adaptol, similar to Afobazole, is prohibited for use during the period of hypersensitivity to the components, during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in patients under 18 years of age.

The medicine is produced in Latvia by the joint-stock company Olainfarm.

Noofen

This drug is an analogue of Afobazole and belongs to the group of anxiolytics and nootropics. And exhibits tranquilizing and psychostimulating properties.

The main active ingredient of Noofen is aminophenylbutyric acid hydrochloride. • in case of severe renal dysfunction.

The medicine, an analogue of Afobazole, is produced in Latvia by the joint-stock company Olainfarm.

Tenoten

Another Russian analogue of Afobazole, belonging to the pharmacological groups: anxiolytics and nootropics. Tenoten is a homeopathic remedy that contains antigens to the S-100 protein (brain-specific).

The drug exhibits neuroprotective, antidepressant, antiasthenic, anxiolytic, nootropic, antihypoxic, antistress properties, due to which it has a calming and anti-anxiety effect.

At the same time, Tenoten does not cause a feeling of drowsiness or muscle relaxation, which allows patients to lead an active lifestyle during the course of treatment.

This analogue of Afobazole is prescribed for the treatment of the following conditions:

  • disorders caused by stress and manifested by increased irritability, nervous tension, anxiety and other negative vegetative effects;
  • psychosomatic pathologies;
  • neuroses and neurosis-like conditions;
  • lesions of the central nervous system of a traumatic and discirculatory nature, which are manifested by emotional instability, memory impairment and other vegetative pathologies.

Contraindications to the use of the drug is individual sensitivity. For patients under 18 years of age, there is a special form of the drug - children's Tenoten.

The medicine is produced in Russia.

Differences between Afobazole and Persen

Persen is based on components of plant origin and includes extracts of valerian, lemon balm and mint. Afobazole is a synthetic drug whose main active ingredient is fabomotizole.

Neurotropic drugs belong to different pharmacological groups. Persen is a sedative drug in which the hypnotic effect prevails over the anti-anxiety effect. Afobazole is a broad-spectrum tranquilizer and is suitable for the treatment of clinically diagnosed disorders of the central nervous system.

Taking into account the synthetic nature of the components included in the composition, Afobazol is contraindicated for use in childhood and adolescence. Persen can be prescribed to children over 12 years of age.

Phenazepam

This drug can be classified as a group: cheap analogues of Afobazole. The drug belongs to the group of anxiolytics (tranquilizers) and has anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, muscle relaxant, hypnotic and sedative effects. As we can see, the properties of Phenazepam are somewhat different from Afobazole. This should be taken into account when selecting drug analogues.

Thanks to its anxiolytic effect, the medicine is used to reduce negative psycho-emotional manifestations.

Phenazepam is prescribed for therapy in the following situations:

  • for neurotic and psychopathic conditions, which can manifest themselves in the form of anxiety, restlessness, increased irritability, emotional lability and tension;
  • for the treatment of reactive psychoses and hypochondriacal-senestopathic syndrome;
  • for vegetative disorders and sleep disorders;
  • for preventive treatment of various types of fear;
  • with temporal and myoclonic epilepsy.

The drug analogue of Afobazole has a fairly extensive list of contraindications:

  • individual intolerance to the components of the product;
  • shock and coma;
  • neuromuscular pathologies (myasthenia gravis);
  • angle-closure glaucoma;
  • acute intoxication with alcohol, narcotic and sleeping pills;
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in severe form;
  • severe depression (possibility of suicidal tendencies);
  • the first three months of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • The patient's age is under 18 years.

As we can see, this inexpensive analogue of Afobazole has a large number of contraindications and can only be prescribed after examination by a medical specialist.

General features of the drugs

The main task of the product is to restore the sensitivity of brain receptors, stabilizing them, and normalizing VSD. The drug has stimulating and calming effects, allowing a person to cope with anxiety, cognitive disorders and disorders of the autonomic system.

Indications include the following pathologies:

  • premenstrual syndrome;
  • neurasthenia;
  • alcohol syndrome;
  • adaptive disorders;
  • arrhythmia;
  • sleep disorders;
  • asthma;
  • ischemic disease;
  • lupus;
  • hypertension.

The original is prohibited for use by minor children, pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding. This is where Afobazole analogues come to the rescue, some of which have fewer contraindications.

Also, the drug is prohibited in case of intolerance to monosaccharides and galactose, or lactase deficiency. This also needs to be taken into account when selecting analogues - some of them may differ favorably in composition, and the prohibitions can be circumvented.

Grandaxin

This drug, like its analogue Afobazol, belongs to the group of anxiolytic substances. It has a mild effect that is not accompanied by sedative, muscle relaxant and anticonvulsant effects. Grandaxin is a psychovegetative regulator that helps relieve psychovegetative disorders and exhibits a moderate stimulating effect.

Since the analogue drug does not cause muscle relaxation, it is successfully used to treat patients with a history of myopathy and myasthenia.

Grandaxin is used for therapy for the following pathologies:

  • treatment of psychopathic disorders, manifested by increased tension, anxious feelings, worries, and apathetic states. Fatigue and depression;
  • symptomatic treatment of pseudoanginal pain;
  • for the treatment of withdrawal syndrome.

This analogue of Afobazole has restrictions for use:

  • hypersensitivity to substances included in the medication;
  • respiratory failure of decompensated type;
  • if the patient has a history of apnea or coma;
  • in the case of aggressive-impulsive psychopathy;
  • during pregnancy (first three months) and breastfeeding.

The drug can be classified as a group: Russian-made analogs of Afobazole, since Grandaxin is produced by the limited liability company "SERDIX" in Russia.

Glycine

The drug is an analogue of Afobazole and has antioxidant, neuroprotective and neurometabolic properties.

Glycine regulates metabolic processes, activates the protective properties of the nervous system, smoothes out the effects of psycho-emotional overload, increases mental performance, and, like all analogues of Afobazole, improves the general condition and mood of patients.

Glycine is prescribed in the following cases:

  • to reduce psycho-emotional stress in stressful situations;
  • to normalize antisocial behavior in children and adolescents;
  • to normalize sleep;
  • to reduce negative manifestations of nervous system disorders (neuroses, anxiety and restlessness, autonomic disorders and others).

The only contraindication for this analogue is the presence of hypersensitivity to the components of Glycine.

The medicine is produced by the medical research and production complex "BIOTICS" in Russia.

Glycine can be considered as an analogue of Afobazole for children, which has no age restrictions.

Fenzitate

This drug, an analogue of Afobazole, is an anxiolytic that is part of the group of benzodiazepine derivatives. Fenzitate exhibits pronounced anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, sedative, and hypnotic effects. Thanks to its anxiolytic properties, it helps relieve emotional stress, reduces feelings of anxiety, worry and fear.

Indications for the use of the drug are:

  • neuroses, and conditions similar to neuroses and psychoses, manifested in the form of irritability, increased anxiety, anxiety and fear;
  • reactive type psychoses;
  • syndromes of hypochondriacal and senestopathic nature;
  • vegetative dysfunction;
  • sleep disorders;
  • preparation before surgical interventions;
  • hyperkinesis and nervous tics.

This Afobazole analogue is prohibited for use in the presence of the following pathologies:

  • severe myasthenia;
  • disturbances in the functional activity of the liver and kidneys;
  • pregnancy and subsequent breastfeeding;
  • intoxication resulting from poisoning with medicinal, alcoholic and narcotic substances.

For elderly patients, the drug is prescribed with caution and under the supervision of the attending physician.

Fenzitate is an analogue of Afobazole without prescriptions, produced in Russia.

According to numerous reviews from doctors and patients, as well as clinical trials, Afobazole is well tolerated by patients and is effective in treating psycho-emotional disorders caused by stress and emotional tension.

However, the drug and its analogues are often not very cheap in pharmacies, and their price may not be accessible to a wide range of consumers. I would like to present a specially selected list of cheap analogues of the drug Afobazol, which includes the following drugs:

  • Glycine;
  • Persen;
  • Phenazepam;
  • Novopassit;
  • Fenzitate;
  • Mebicar.

These medications may come in capsules, tablets, or other dosage forms and must be used as directed by your doctor.

Independent use of Afobazole analogues can cause negative manifestations of overdose, as well as serious consequences, since some of these drugs have hypnotic and muscle relaxant effects. They can cause drowsiness and other negative effects.

A limited group of Afobazole analogues is approved for use in pediatrics and in patients during pregnancy; this should be taken into account when choosing a drug substitute.

Possible analogues

When selecting analogues, you need to pay attention not only to the main indications, but also to the composition of the drugs. If possible, it is better to consult with your doctor before use.

Even though medications may have few side effects, it is very difficult to predict their effect on the body.

  • Alprazolam

Indications for use of Alprazolam are almost similar to those of Afobazole. These also include depression, phobias, withdrawal states, organic and psychiatric anxiety disorders and alcohol dependence syndrome. The active substance is a benzodiazepine derivative belonging to the anxiolytics.

The drug is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract within two hours. It can pass into breast milk and crosses the placental barrier, so pregnant and lactating women, as well as those suffering from acute kidney and liver diseases, glaucoma or severe respiratory failure should avoid using it.

  • Phenazepam

Phenazepam is a relatively cheap analogue, but is available only by prescription. Indications include epilepsy, muscle rigidity, autonomic dysfunction and reactive psychoses. Contraindications are similar to those of the drug Afobazol.

The daily dosage and course are prescribed by the doctor and depend on the underlying disease for which the drug is needed. The recommended duration of use is two weeks: the drug causes drug dependence and loses its effectiveness over time. If Phenazepam is discontinued, the dose should be reduced gradually.

The drug can only be used under the strict supervision of a doctor; it has an extensive list of side effects, including dysmenorrhea, breathing problems, muscle spasms and hallucinations.

  • Elenium

Additional indications for Elenium include insomnia and psychoorganic syndromes, which often cause neurasthenic disorders. Lactation and the first trimester of pregnancy are clear contraindications; during the second and third trimesters, use is possible if the doctor deems it appropriate.

Antihistamines, antipsychotics, analgesics and antiepileptic drugs can enhance the effect of the drug. Elderly people should take half the recommended dose. It is better to avoid using Elenium for those whose work requires increased concentration.

  • Strezam

An advantageous difference between Stresam is the absence of a negative effect on psychomotor reactions, which allows it to be used as a daytime tranquilizer. The drug does not cause addiction, and there is no “withdrawal syndrome” typical of many sedatives. Peak action occurs within two hours after taking the tablet.

The average duration of the course is from a month to 12 weeks; during the first days, a side effect is possible - dizziness, which goes away without the intervention of specialists. If the patient has a hypersensitivity to etifoxine hydrochloride, allergic skin reactions are possible. In this case, consultation with a specialist is necessary: the doctor will help you choose another drug.

  • Tenoten

Tenoten is available in the form of lozenges; it has no unwanted muscle relaxant or hypnotic effects. Thanks to this homeopathic remedy, you can get rid of constant stress, clinical depression or alleviate serious psycho-emotional stress, as well as normalize the activity of the central nervous system during hypoxia or intoxication of the body.

Tenoten Children's is used for children and adolescents (up to 18 years of age). Adults should take up to two tablets twice a day, the average course duration is up to three months. If necessary, the time is increased, and after a short break the therapy is repeated.

  • Mebicar

The Afobazole analogue Mebicar is effective not only for the correction of phobias, anxiety and depressive disorders, alcohol or nicotine addiction. It is also recommended to use it for emotional instability and chronic overstrain. The product improves oxygen supply to myocardial tissue and normalizes blood cholesterol balance.

The only contraindication is hypersensitivity to active or auxiliary substances. Side effects - allergies, decreased blood pressure or increased body temperature - are normalized without the intervention of specialists. The duration of the course is from a week to three months, for the correction of psychiatric diseases - up to six months.

  • Persen

Persen is one of the safest herbal remedies with a sedative effect. However, the indications are quite limited: the remedy is effective only for irritability, nervousness and sleep disorders. There are many more contraindications - pregnancy, lactose or fructose intolerance, diseases of the biliary tract.

You need to take Persen 2-3 times a day, 1-2 tablets. Continuous use should not exceed two months; it is recommended to take at least a month's break. With long-term use, stool disturbances are possible; other side effects include an allergic skin reaction, dermatitis, and bronchospasms.

  • Adaptol

Thanks to Adaptol, you can not only calm the nervous system with unspecified anxiety, neurotic or phobic anxiety disorders, but also remove adverse reactions that appeared after taking other neuroleptic or antipsychotic drugs.

This analogue can be taken during the day; it does not affect concentration during work or study. The drug has no drowsy effect, but in combination with a sleeping pill, night sleep is normalized. When used correctly, there is no stimulation of psychopathological disorders, mental performance and cognitive functions improve.

  • Notta

Notta is a homeopathic medicine that is used to improve sleep and reduce psycho-emotional excitability. The product is available in the form of drops or tablets, and can be used even by children under 12 years of age. The composition contains only natural ingredients. No adverse reactions were recorded.

The drug should be taken an hour after meals, the course is up to four months. When correcting the consequences of a traumatic situation, the duration of treatment is reduced to 1-4 weeks. The dosage is determined by the attending physician; after noticeable improvements appear, the number of drops or tablets is reduced.

  • Sedavit

The biologically active substances of Sedavit consist of extracts of medicinal plants and have a positive effect not only on the nervous system, but also on the cardiovascular system. Vitamins (B6 and PP) normalize the functioning of the peripheral and central nervous systems and improve carbohydrate and fat metabolism.

The drug can be used even if you have diabetes; it is also permitted for minors over 12 years of age. Daily dosage – two tablets three times a day. If nausea occurs after the remedy, the following doses are taken only during meals. If inhibition occurs, the daily dosage is reduced to one tablet.

  • Sibazon

“Additional” indications of Sibazon are climacteric female condition, premenstrual tension, nervous spasms and convulsions. The attending physician should calculate the dosage; the goal that needs to be achieved through the use of the drug is of greatest importance.

Contraindications include acute intoxication, individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy and age - Sibazon is allowed for children, but it is better not to give it to infants. Adverse reactions include drowsiness, fatigue and dizziness, and less commonly, a feeling of euphoria or depression.

  • Stress Veda

The product has a mild sedative effect and belongs to herbal medicines used to rejuvenate the body. The nervous system and emotional background are also stabilized. The product is also used for preventive purposes - to strengthen the immune system and improve concentration and memory, without causing drowsiness and lethargy.

The course is one month, you need to drink one capsule three times a day. If necessary, the “treatment” can be repeated after a pause of 3-4 months. There are usually no side effects, but an allergic reaction is possible if you are hypersensitive to the components.

  • Lotusonic

The active components of Lotusonica are medicinal plants and seed extracts; this sedative is of plant origin. Suitable for eliminating stress, overwork, insomnia, neurasthenia. Some substances improve metabolic processes and have a vasodilating effect.

Lotusonic can only be used by adults, one tablet twice a day. To correct sleep disorders, take a tablet an hour before bedtime. The drug enhances the effects of drugs that depress the nervous system, analgesics and antihypertensive drugs. It is first necessary to reduce the dosage of such drugs.

  • Homvio-Nervin

Homeopathic complex Homvio-Nervin is used to treat neuropsychiatric disorders of the functional type. It is also suitable for psychotic and neurotic disorders with hormonal changes associated with age - adolescence, menopause. In rare cases, the components of the drug cause an allergic reaction.

For chronic diseases, you need to take a tablet three times a day, for exacerbations - a tablet every hour. The maximum daily dose is 12 pieces. When taking the drug to prevent stressful situations, a “one-time” use is sufficient – two tablets an hour before the alarming event.

  • Biopassite

Biopassit is produced in the form of syrup and is suitable for the treatment of diseases of the nervous system, insomnia, panic attacks and headaches. The composition contains mainly natural ingredients. Only adults are allowed to take the product, the daily dosage is 10 ml (two teaspoons) twice a day. The average course duration is 14 days.

People suffering from alcoholism should refrain from taking it: the components enhance the effect of ethanol. Another contraindication is diabetes: Biopassit contains sucrose. If side effects occur (allergies, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation), it is better to refuse the next dose and consult your doctor.

The price does not always affect the effectiveness of the drug: often inexpensive products help cope with the problem, if not better, then certainly no worse than their expensive Afobazole analogues. But when choosing any medicine, you should not rely on the advice of a pharmacist or relatives.

Only the attending physician can take into account all the nuances of the action of a particular drug. The mechanism of action of drugs, their contraindications and possible side effects that negatively affect the patient’s quality of life are taken into account.

Russian analogues

Russian pharmaceutical companies can offer the following substitutes for Afobazole:

  • Tenoten;
  • Mebikar-Tathimpharm;
  • Selank;
  • Phenazepam.

It was the domestic production of these anxiolytics, and not their import, that became the reason that these are the cheapest anti-anxiety drugs on the Russian market.

Before using an analogue, consult your doctor to prevent unwanted reactions and lack of treatment effectiveness.

Rules for dispensing from pharmacies

Afobazole and tranquilizers with natural composition can be purchased at the pharmacy without a prescription. Most other tranquilizers are only available with a prescription from a doctor. This is due to the fact that they are more powerful, but also have many side effects that can affect the patient's health.

Afobazole is a tranquilizer with a special effect: the active substances affect certain receptors in the brain. Selective exposure allows you to quickly suppress anxiety without slowing down the nervous system. The product cannot be called budgetary and, if necessary, you can select analogues of Afobazole.

Advantages and disadvantages of "Afobazol"

The only obvious disadvantage of the medicine is its price, which averages 380-450 rubles. The high cost often scares consumers. Many of them immediately ask the doctor to tell them about Afobazole analogues and to find a replacement for it. Before deciding to take such steps, it is worth assessing a number of strengths of the drug that make it stand out from other tranquilizers.

Advantages of using the drug "Afobazol":

  • the drug does not have additional hypnotic or sedative properties characteristic of most tranquilizers. It does not relax muscles, does not cause memory impairment or decreased concentration;
  • the product is not capable of causing drug dependence or causing withdrawal syndrome, which cannot be said about many of its analogues and substitutes;
  • “Afobazol” relieves not only manifestations of the psycho-emotional type, but also accompanying unpleasant sensations - sweating, dry mouth, abdominal pain;
  • regardless of the severity of the clinical picture, the feeling of psychological discomfort is dulled;
  • the functionality of the autonomic nervous system increases;
  • suppression of consciousness does not occur, the person is fully aware of his actions;
  • When taken as a course, concentration and memory improve.

The composition has a number of contraindications that should not be ignored. It is better to immediately replace the product if there is a history of hypersensitivity to the components of the product or lactose intolerance. The medication is not suitable for treating patients under 18 years of age, pregnant or lactating women.

The list of possible adverse reactions to Afobazole is very short. The start of a medication course is sometimes accompanied by a headache, but in most cases it goes away on its own within a few days. Some patients develop skin rashes in response to the medication. In such a situation, the decision to continue therapy is made by the doctor.

Pros and cons of Afobazole

The main component is the chemical substance fabomotizol, which does not provoke changes in brain receptors and does not have a sedative effect. "Afobazol" is suitable for long-term use, does not develop drug dependence and does not cause withdrawal syndrome after treatment.

Advantages of fabomotizol:

  • relieves anxiety and gently stimulates the central nervous system;
  • eliminates symptoms of VSD;
  • improves memory and attention;
  • suitable for complex therapy for chronic diseases;
  • improves sleep;
  • relieves tension;
  • stabilizes the psycho-emotional background, relieves depression and normalizes mood;
  • helps cope with hormonal manifestations during PMS and menopause;
  • improves the condition of withdrawal syndrome;
  • relieves irritability during the period of quitting smoking.

Disadvantages noted by patients: contraindications, side effects and high price.

Similar drugs - list

Let us immediately note that drugs with the same active ingredient are not available in Russian pharmacies. But representatives of the same pharmacotherapeutic group as Afobazol, but with a different composition, are no less effective against the same disorders.

These include:

The list shows the most popular anxiolytics that are available in Russian pharmacies. It is recommended that you choose a substitute with your doctor. Below are brief characteristics of each drug.

Patient reviews of Afobazole and Persen

Tanya A.: “Faced with a nervous breakdown, I purchased Persen on the advice of a pharmacy, focusing on the familiar name. I was engaged in a responsible project and worked seven days a week, 12 hours a day. I was tired and nervous, and as a result, I began to lash out at loved ones and had trouble sleeping—I couldn’t sleep until almost the morning, despite being tired.

Perhaps this drug is not intended for such a complex case, but I did not notice any effect from the tablets. I drank according to the instructions in the maximum possible doses. I felt lethargic, but not calm. I won’t buy any more.”

Oksana Z.: “I took Persen for a month - the insomnia disappeared, but the nervousness remained. Previously, I slept no more than 3 hours, now I fall asleep without problems and sleep soundly, without waking up from nightmares or early in the morning for no reason. There were no adverse reactions. I want to consult with a specialist whether it is possible to continue taking the drug.”

Rules for choosing a substitute

When choosing an analogue of Afobazole, but cheaper in price, you need to pay attention to the composition and the presence of contraindications. An important point is drug interaction if other medications are taken at the same time.

Taking into account drug interactions and calculating the dosage both in combination therapy and in treatment with an anxiolytic alone is the task of the attending physician.

Patients with lactose intolerance should pay attention to the fact that most tablets contain lactose monohydrate. In this case, it is advisable to choose injections or nasal drops.

Disadvantages of analogues and substitutes

The main disadvantage of generic Afobazole is the fact that some of them belong to the group of benzodiazepines. Such drugs depress the central nervous system and have a sedative and muscle relaxant effect. Benzodiazepines have a number of contraindications and are not suitable for long-term use, are addictive and prohibited for patients whose activities require increased attention. Herbal medicines can trigger allergies, and herbs often have a hypnotic effect. Homeopathy is considered a remedy with unproven effectiveness. Fabomotizol, according to the instructions, does not interact with alcohol, while during treatment with other anxiolytics, the use of alcohol is strictly prohibited.

What is Afobazol

The calming effect of Afabozol is based on the ability of its ingredients to stabilize the functioning of the brain and protect nerve cells from the adverse effects of external stimuli.

This drug helps fight such phenomena as:

  • anxiety and irritability;
  • increased vulnerability and sensitivity;
  • stiffness;
  • insomnia;
  • premenstrual syndrome.

It is often included in treatment regimens for various somatic diseases and cognitive disorders.

Taking Afobazole with valerian is recommended in the process of getting rid of bad habits. They are prescribed for adaptation disorders and low activity of the body.

According to reviews of Afobazole, the drug does not cause addiction, drowsiness or impaired attention, which is especially important when driving vehicles. On forums dedicated to discussing the treatment of neuroses, it is often said that if these drugs are taken together, the expected effect occurs as soon as possible. In addition, such treatment has no side effects (the only exception is individual intolerance to some components).

Indications for use of the drug

Afobazole is prescribed for disorders of a neurological nature. It will help in the fight against panic attacks, anxiety, and sleep disorders. It will also be useful for those who suffer from premenstrual or alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

Afobazole is used not only to combat panic attacks. Reception is possible in combination with the treatment of oncology and skin problems. Used for somatic disorders: bronchial asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, arterial hypertension, arrhythmia. It will also help alleviate the condition of those who want to quit smoking.

Improvements also occur in the autonomic system: dry mouth, excessive sweating, and frequent dizziness disappear, which Afobazol also helps to get rid of.

The great advantage over inexpensive analogues of Afobazole is that it does not cause addiction. Accordingly, the process of finishing taking it does not cause any discomfort. There is no cancellation effect.

At the same time, Afobazole is a fairly strong drug. If, for example, Tenoten does not help to eliminate disturbing symptoms, then, according to neurologists, Afobazol would be the best option. The first option is considered homeopathic and weak.

Preparations based on valerian

Preparations made on the basis of pepper medicinal herbs have a more pronounced sedative effect.

Regular intake of valerian is recommended for:

  • insomnia;
  • neuroses and excited states;
  • chronic fatigue syndrome;
  • manifestations of vegetative-vascular dystonia (VSD);
  • various dermatoses.

However, such drugs are not recommended when performing work associated with a high level of danger. In addition, valerian tincture is made on the basis of alcohol, so its use is undesirable for alcoholism. The compatibility of Afobazole and valerian with sleeping pills and vasodilators is undesirable, as it may increase their effect.

Composition, active ingredient Afobazole

The active ingredient of Afobazole tablets is benzimidazole dihydride chloride. The composition also includes a number of excipients: cellulose, povidone, magnesium stearate, milk sugar and potato starch.

The recipient may become allergic to additional substances from the composition, so you should be careful with your body in the first days of taking it.

Actually, the reception itself lasts from 2 to 4 weeks, the effect of the medicine accumulates. It is necessary to note the selective effect of the main active ingredient: not every patient will feel relief after completing the course. In addition, some people detect the effect immediately, while for others it will take a long period. Then why use this medicine en masse? Yes, because Afobazol has practically no contraindications. It can be used even by women during pregnancy, the only limitation is not to use the medicine on the younger generation under 18 years of age due to their fragile psyche and difficult diagnosis at this age.

The medicine is available only in the form of Russian tablets. In fact, this is one of the reasons for the relatively inexpensive cost of the drug.

Reviews from doctors

Khukhrov V.V., psychotherapist with 24 years of experience: “The main effect of Afobazole is anti-anxiety. Eliminates a state of constant anxiety, but the effect manifests itself individually. Some patients do not see any changes, others note an improvement in mood and general condition after 2 weeks of use. I think Afobazole is a good drug for combating increased anxiety, but I’m not happy with the delayed effect.”

Varchenko E. E., psychotherapist with 25 years of experience: “Persen is suitable for patients who avoid taking other medications. There are practically no side effects. It can be used for self-medication, but for complex problems the remedy is ineffective. Taking into account the composition, it is overpriced, perhaps this is due to active advertising.”

Gordeev V.A., psychiatrist with 33 years of experience: “Afobazole is an effective drug, but only for mild neurotic symptoms. More effective as an adaptogen to prevent the occurrence of anxiety disorders. Has virtually no side effects."

What does an antispasmodic help with?

Afobazole has a fairly wide spectrum of action. It does not cause addiction, which in pharmacology is usually called “withdrawal syndrome,” and therefore can be used in the fight against smoking. But most often, the antispasmodic is used for minor mental disorders: signs of paranoia, suspiciousness, self-doubt, excessive emotionality or depression.

The advantage of the medicine is its “mild” action. This is not a classic dangerous tranquilizer. It is an anxiolytic that helps people who find themselves in a difficult situation after an illness or some life event. The medication is indicated for people who have everything in order mentally, but who, under the influence of life factors, are faced with some problems.

When co-administration is not recommended

Of course, when determining treatment regimens, it is necessary to take into account the individual characteristics of a person. Despite the fact that Afobazole has clear benefits, the best effect is achieved if valerian and Afobazole are consumed simultaneously.

However, the latter has some contraindications:

  • individual intolerance;
  • pregnancy (especially the first trimester);
  • lactation period;
  • children up to 3 years old.

It must be remembered that even a four-year-old child cannot be prescribed valerian on his own. Most often it is prescribed in complex treatment regimens for certain neurological and mental disorders.

Afabozole almost never causes allergies. However, it, like valerian, is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
