Active ingredient: Tenoten®

The homeopathic drug Tenoten® is based on S-100 antibodies . They are obtained by purification using biotechnology based on the affinity properties of various antibodies. “S-100” is a protein that is brain-specific. With the help of this substance, integrative processes are carried out in the structures of the brain, such as combining information from various sense organs into a single system, transmitting impulses, and so on. In addition, protein S-100 protects brain structures from harmful factors and reduces the negative impact of stressful situations. It is worth mentioning that this substance is called brain-specific for the reason that it is found only in brain cells.

Tenoten for adults

The Tenoten® and Tenoten® for children preparations contain biotechnology-purified antibodies to the above-described “S-100” protein. These antibodies bind tightly to a brain-specific protein found in human brain cells. In order to stabilize AT-S-100 during the manufacture of the homeopathic drug Tenoten®, a water-alcohol mixture is used, which allows the antibodies not to disintegrate.

Tenoten for children

As excipients, the composition of Tenoten® and Tenoten® for children includes:

  • Magnesium stearate;
  • Lactose;
  • Microcrystalline cellulose.

Therapeutic effect

A sedative acts on the central nervous system. It acts on the S-100 protein, helping to improve its functionality and activity.

It also allows you to normalize metabolism in the nervous system and normalize the processes of excitation and inhibition.

“Tenoten” for children, due to its composition, helps strengthen the nervous system, helps improve memory and attention. It is used for various conditions that are accompanied by irritability, anxiety, increased emotional reaction, and decreased cognitive functions. It is also used during stress, neuroses and disorders of the central nervous system. It can be prescribed to children; Tenoten for children is produced for these purposes.

Release form: lozenges. The therapeutic effect occurs due to purified antibodies to the brain-specific protein S - 100. The mechanism of action of the drug relates to homeopathy. Children's Tenoten contains a smaller dose of the active substance. The drug contains lactose, so you should not take the product for those for whom it is contraindicated.

Tenoten has a mild sedative and anti-anxiety effect.

Who can use a sedative?

"Tenoten" for children has certain indications for use:

  • If the child has moderately expressed functional and organic lesions of the central nervous system.

  • For neurosis-like and neurotic disorders.
  • If you have anxiety, restlessness, irritability or emotional lability.
  • Indications for use also include disturbances in the functioning of cognitive processes: memory, attention (concentration).
  • For symptoms of apathy and hyperactivity.

Also, indications for use include the presence of vegetative-vascular dystonia, in which blood pressure constantly and suddenly changes, numbness of the arms and legs is observed, and headaches occur.

Indications such as stroke, head injury or impaired blood flow to the brain are also present, but in this case the drug is used as an additional therapy in the main treatment.

Possible use for persons over 18 years of age (with appropriate dosage) for chronic stress, constant irritability, if the feeling of anxiety increases without significant reasons, noted in the instructions for use. It can be used after injuries or when cerebral blood flow is impaired.

Tablet dosage

Tenoten tablets can be taken at any time, since it does not depend on the intake of food into the body. The instructions for use note that the tablet must be kept in the mouth until dissolved. How many tablets can you use at one time, and can there be an overdose?

The duration of therapy and dosage are determined by the specialist who prescribes the drug. The doctor knows his indications and assesses the patient’s condition. As a rule, the dosage is the same for many; it is also noted in the instructions for use.

The drug is recommended for people over 18 years of age to use 1-2 tablets 4 times a day. The doctor himself decides how many times to take the drug. Children are advised to take 1 tablet 3 times a day.

It is important to ensure that the last dose is taken a maximum of 2 hours before bedtime.

Therapy adjustment is required if there is no effect after taking the medication for a month.

In this case, the dosage may change in accordance with the instructions for use. Additional examination of the patient may also be necessary.

Features of taking Tenoten® for adults and children

According to medical recommendations, the minimum course of taking Tenoten® is four weeks , that is, one month. Treatment can last up to six months, after which you should take a break of one month. In any case, if after one or two months there is no effect from the drug, you should consult a doctor. In addition, Tenoten® can be taken once, that is, one or two days, in order to quickly calm down and reduce anxiety in a stressful situation. In this case, adults are recommended to take one tablet two to four times a day.

During a course of treatment, adults are recommended to start taking Tenoten® with small doses. During the first week, the dosage frequency is one tablet twice a day. If after seven days the effect is not sufficient, you should switch to a dosage of two tablets twice a day, and then monitor your condition. In the third week, you can increase the frequency of administration to three times a day. It should be noted that the minimum duration of treatment is four weeks. The drug Tenoten® is approved for use strictly from the age of eighteen.

"Tenoten® for children" is used at the age of three to eighteen years inclusive. At an earlier age, the drug cannot be used, since in the period up to three years the active development of the child’s brain structures occurs, and drug intervention in the processes of formation of the nervous system is inappropriate. The frequency of administration of children's Tenoten® is determined individually depending on a particular behavioral disorder. Treatment begins with small doses of one tablet once a day. Further, it is possible to use the drug in a dosage of one tablet three times a day.

Instructions for use of children's Tenoten

The drug is based on affinity-purified antibodies to specific S-100 proteins, the maximum concentration of which is found in the human brain.
These substances stimulate the production of this protein, which has a positive effect on brain function. The term "affinity-purified" means that the antibodies have been purified in a special way and their molecular bonds have been separated. This allows them to instantly attach to the receptors of the desired cells and perform their work as efficiently as possible. The total amount of antibodies is 3 mg, but in the active form of the substance there are about 3*10⁻¹⁶ ng/g.

Auxiliary components:

  • milk sugar – 267 mg;
  • dietary fiber (MCF) – 30 mg;
  • stearic acid – 3 mg.

The drug is available in the form of tablets of a standard flat-cylindrical shape. The color of the drug is either pure white or white with a cream tint. On one side of the tablet there is a line mark and the inscription MATERIA MEDICA. On the reverse side – TENOTEN KID.

Tenoten is positioned as a homeopathic remedy. However, many pediatricians do not agree with this classification. The drug is recommended for use according to the nosological systematization of diseases. In this case, homeopathic remedies are prescribed on an individual basis after a thorough study of the symptoms and all the characteristics of the patient - physical and psychological. Apart from this, there are no proprietary medicines in homeopathy.

The tablets are not intended to be chewed or swallowed - they are dissolved. They taste slightly sweet. Use the medicine between meals. It is advisable that at least an hour pass after eating, and the next meal should be no earlier than half an hour later.

If necessary, the tablet can be dissolved in water, for which it must be placed in liquid (1 tsp), wait a little, then stir.

Dosage calculation

How many tablets should I give my baby? The dosage of the drug is prescribed by the doctor. The child’s age, weight, and symptoms matter. As a rule, a single dose of 1 tablet is recommended for a child over three years of age. Next, consider the reception scheme:

  • for neurotic disorders, take 1 tablet three times a day;
  • hyperactive children are prescribed two tablets 2 times a day;
  • for attention deficit disorder - two tablets twice a day.

The course of use usually ranges from 30 to 90 days, however, for individual indications, the doctor can extend therapy up to six months. Sometimes the doctor recommends that aggressive, easily excitable children take the drug according to a descending scheme, which implies a gradual weaning off the drug.

Possible dosage:

  • 1 decade (10 days) – one tablet three times a day;
  • the next 20 days – one tablet twice a day.

The manufacturer recommends not taking the drug for more than a month if there are no noticeable improvements. In this case, it is advisable to contact a specialist again.

Not all analogues can replace it in this.

What is the difference between Tenoten and Glycine?

The main difference between the drugs is that Tenoten is a homeopathic remedy. Medicines have an effect due to various active components.

The drug Tenoten is available in a special children's form. Glycine is not sold in separate forms for adults and children; in childhood it is allowed to be taken, but in a reduced dosage.

Tenoten, unlike Glycine, contains lactose, so people with lactose intolerance should take this into account.

Patient reviews

There are quite conflicting reviews about this drug. Some people are delighted with it, while others don’t like it at all. "Tenoten", reviews indicate this, affects the nervous system of children and people over 18 years of age, if there are no serious abnormalities.

In other cases, it can only be used as an additional strengthening treatment. Below are several opinions of parents about the drug.

Inna, 32 years old. My daughter Katya (5 years old) began to react strongly to the sound of renovations in the neighboring apartment - she constantly cried, shook from sharp sounds, screamed if the knocking started suddenly. My explanations did not help, the fear still remained. I woke up several times during the night.

After consulting a doctor, we received a prescription: take this medicine for 1 month, 3 times a day, one tablet. After the course of treatment the situation improved significantly. The girl stopped reacting so strongly to noises and sharp sounds, and her sleep improved.

Anna, 26 years old. My son was recommended to take the drug for a month according to an individual regimen (not according to instructions). I was confused that it should not be given to children under 3 years old, and my baby is 2 years old. But the doctor assured that it was safe. After the course of treatment, the child began to sleep better and can now focus his attention on toys for several minutes (this was not the case before).

Evgenia, 30 years old. My son was diagnosed with hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder. We took the medicine for a little more than half a month - there was no effect, it seemed that the condition only worsened.

Katya, 40 years old. My children took the drug. There was no effect at first, but after a month I noticed that they became calmer. There was also a mistake - I didn’t make sure to give it 2 hours before bedtime. After I corrected myself, the children began to sleep better.

Elena, 29 years old. We also encountered excessive excitement at first, this was a side effect. Then everything was restored.

Contraindications for use

Tenoten for children can be used from 3 years old. The drug is indicated for children with attention deficit disorder, with neurotic disorders manifested by:

  • excitability, short temper, irritability;
  • anxiety states;
  • impaired attention (inability to concentrate for several minutes);
  • autonomic disorders;
  • hyperactivity;
  • tics;
  • enuresis (more details in the article: effective tablets for enuresis in children).

According to the manufacturer, the drug has an anti-amnestic effect, that is, it prevents memory deterioration associated with various factors. Tenoten is indicated for children who have suffered an acute cerebrovascular accident, or for those with a history of hypoxia or intoxication.

The drug triggers a neuroprotective mechanism, narrows the area of damage, optimizes the memorization process, stimulates memory, affecting the central nervous system. Suppresses or delays the processes of oxidative degradation of lipids caused by free radicals.

There are very few contraindications for use. The instructions indicate that Tenoten is not prescribed:

  1. For the treatment of children under 3 years of age. It is better for them to choose a product in the form of syrup. A doctor may prescribe Tenoten to a 1-year-old child if he considers the therapy appropriate.
  2. For the treatment of persons with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the product.
  3. Tenoten contains lactose, so the drug should not be taken by those diagnosed with lactase deficiency. Persons with glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome and patients with galactosemia should use this drug with caution.
