What is mixed type dystonia syndrome?
The autonomic nervous system is responsible for maintaining the constancy of the internal environment; it controls:
- blood pressure,
- arterial tone,
- heart rate,
- thermoregulation,
- bronchial lumen,
- release of stress hormones,
- urine excretion,
- bowel function,
- insulin supply
- immunity.
A feature of autonomic reactions is their autonomy, that is, they are not controlled by the central nervous system. It consists of 2 departments - sympathetic and parasympathetic. When the activity of the first increases, metabolism increases, blood pressure increases, the frequency of heart contractions and respiratory movements increases, and the muscles of the intestines and ureters relax. Parasympathetic reactions have the opposite direction.
Normally, these two departments work in concert and, when the external or internal environment changes, ensure a person’s adaptation to new conditions. When autonomic regulation fails, dystonia occurs, which affects almost three-quarters of the population. It can appear in childhood, progress in adolescents, disrupt well-being in young and adulthood, and aggravate the course of menopause. It occurs three times more often in women.
The mixed form means that both departments alternately show excessive activity, so the symptoms are varied . Patients present many complaints, but instrumental and laboratory studies fail to detect significant changes.
If left untreated, vegetative-vascular dystonia transforms into neurosis, arterial hypertension or hypotension, and is one of the factors that worsens the course of arrhythmia, respiratory and digestive diseases.
We recommend reading the article about neurocirculatory dystonia. From it you will learn about the causes of development and types of pathology, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, prognosis in children and adults. And here is more information about VSD and panic attacks.

Depression can rightfully be called an acute respiratory disease among mental disorders - most people experience depression in one way or another, directly or indirectly. Your friends or family members may be victims of depression. Despite the prevalence of this disorder, many do not know exactly what depression is, what its causes are, and how depression differs from the blues and bad mood.
Depression is characterized by a number of fairly common symptoms, including persistent sadness, anxiety, a feeling of being lost, as well as feelings of hopelessness and pessimism. Depression also causes feelings of guilt, worthlessness and helplessness. When people are depressed, they lose interest in life and even previously loved activities and hobbies, such as friendly parties or even sex, do not inspire them. Insomnia, waking up early in the morning, and excessive sleepiness are common symptoms of depression.
The main cause of depression, in my opinion, is endogenous intoxication of the body as a result of a very large amount of slagging, which causes a disruption in the normal functioning of biochemical processes in the central nervous system. Stress, trauma and genetic predisposition are only provoking and predisposing factors.
Hello, dear Sergei Ivanovich!
Please answer me, can fasting help in my case?
After my divorce from my husband, problems appeared in my mental state.
I have developed insomnia, constant headaches, feelings of guilt, worthlessness and helplessness. I constantly feel anxious, sometimes I don’t even feel like living at all.
The intestines work very poorly, I constantly have to do enemas. Lately I have lost a lot of weight and started to look bad. I was treated by a psychotherapist for several months. There was a temporary improvement, and then it all started all over again, and the anxiety even intensified. Please help if you can.
I look forward to your answer, Elena.
Of course, I couldn’t refuse such a girl. I converted a long time ago
Please note that during fasting, a person is not interested in all external problems; he concentrates more on nature, its beauty, his own health and the passage of fasting. The body works for survival; according to the principle of dominance, two stresses cannot coexist; the more energetically stronger one wins. Dry hunger is a powerful stress for the body, but unlike other stresses, this stress is controlled by the will of a person and his psychological attitude. Therefore, during fasting, all pathological symptoms begin to level out. A great desire and will to live appears, people become calmer, kinder, and more sympathetic. Many patients told me: “What did you do to our boss, he became so calm and sociable.” Lena completed two courses of dry fasting. After the first one, her sleep returned to normal and her headaches went away. After the second, intestinal function returned to normal. She tells me: “I am transformed before my eyes and even began to laugh, and this is after tears appeared even from pleasant things. My main effects of fasting besides health improvement:
1. I become calm. But not indifferently calm, but quietly, joyfully, peacefully calm. Feelings become more refined.
2. I become more humble. There is a subtle point here, you can’t evaluate your condition like that - but everything is known by its fruits. The state of hunger is truly humbling.
3. Time lengthens. The day seems endless - you will do so many things that you would not normally do in a week.
4. Sleep is shortened. Sleep is enough for 5 hours a day.
5. Mental activity increases - any new complex information is easily perceived, mental work is completed very quickly. You find solutions to complex problems that you have struggled with for a long time. Now my condition is excellent, nothing bothers me.” Upon arrival home, she got married and found a more interesting job.
I think our spirit and body are inextricably linked. Good quality cleansing of the body helps restore normal functioning of the intestines and liver, accordingly our brain begins to receive high-quality nutrition and a good flow of oxygen. All altered biochemical processes are normalized and become an order of magnitude better. I always remember the ancient Jews - when a tribe was in a difficult, hopeless situation, they carried out a dry famine with the whole tribe, and there was always a way out. When I have difficult situations in life, SG always helps me.
Obesity
Obesity is a chronic, relapsing disease characterized by excessive accumulation of adipose tissue in the body. The World Health Organization considers obesity an epidemic affecting millions of people. in 1998, there were 250 million obese patients worldwide, representing 7% of the world's adult population. Prof.
V.M. Dilman calls obesity the disease of all diseases. Diseases caused by overeating are the main enemies of humanity on the path to its biological prosperity. 60% of Americans are overweight, which is an indirect cause of 300 thousand deaths annually. The population of Slavic countries, due to carbohydrate foods, even in conditions of chronic protein and vitamin starvation, is in many ways reminiscent of Americans. Therefore, in all developed countries, where millions of people with triple chins are concerned about losing weight, various fasting systems are popular as the most radical way to get rid of excess weight.
However, few people know the rules of nutrition and therapeutic fasting. As for obesity, which is fought through therapeutic fasting, this problem is parasitized by thousands of companies offering Herbalife and other super panaceas, which, without fasting, supposedly make people normal in weight and well-being as supermen.
A lot of patients call us to lose weight, so I will try to dwell on this disease in more detail. After all, obesity is becoming the number one problem in Russia, but especially in the United States of America.
Weight loss during fasting does not mean the loss of vital tissues, but of excess food, waste, fat, etc. A person simply loses so many kilograms of disease. The size of the muscles decreases. But this is the result of a decrease in the amount of fat found in them and a decrease in cell size. During dry fasting, the number of muscle cells actually does not decrease. Observations show that women lose slightly more during fasting than men. This is believed to be due to the larger amount of fatty tissue in women. Women's metabolic rates are slower than men's, and it can be expected that men will lose weight faster than women. It is an established fact: the fatter a person is, the greater the weight loss. Healthy people lose weight more slowly than sick people. Obese patients lose weight much faster than thin patients; Nervous and emotional people lose weight faster than calm and balanced people, and patients in a state of relaxation and rest slower than patients in a state of activity and tension. There is also data on the relationship between the condition of the patient's tissues and his weight loss. Overweight people with flabby and soft tissues lose weight very quickly, while overweight people with dense tissues lose weight much more slowly. Additional evidence suggests that drinking large amounts of water tends to maintain weight by filling tissues with fluid, without preventing normal loss of solid matter. It is also true that in most cases, rapid weight loss occurs early in the fast, so in general short fasts show greater average weight loss per day than long fasts. And weight loss
during the second, third, fourth fasting it is less than during the first fasting.
Even wet fasting, when used correctly and following all recommendations, gives excellent results, but dry fasting is many orders of magnitude more effective.
To treat obesity, we mainly carry out combined fasting.
Dry plus wet fasting, several courses of fasting in a row. To achieve a stable, lasting result, it is necessary to adhere to certain recommendations: a dairy-vegetable diet, the method of medicinal chewing, weekly fasting days, etc. in detail in the chapter “Treatment of diseases”. But even the steady use of dry weekly fasts combined with diet can work wonders.
In general, I want to talk in more detail about the method of therapeutic chewing, given its exceptional value, especially in combination with dry fasting.
How to lose weight without dieting?
Many people dream of losing weight or gaining weight while continuing to eat as before. This goal is quite achievable if you chew your food very thoroughly.
This method was actively promoted by the American physiologist Horace (Horace) Fletcher at the beginning of the last century. at the age of 44, he became seriously ill, so much so that not a single company wanted to pay him insurance. Doctors discovered a whole “bouquet” of ailments in him: excess weight, heart and vascular diseases, gastrointestinal disorders. It was his stomach that bothered him the most. Observing the work of the gastrointestinal tract, Fletcher noticed that food, maximally saturated with saliva, disappears from the oral cavity without swallowing movements. This discovery was later called the "Fletcher's food probe."
According to his recommendations, each piece of food requires at least
30 chewing movements, and the effect of the “food probe” is triggered when there are more than 100 of them. Having changed his old eating habits, the scientist soon got rid of excess weight, forgot about his illnesses, began to exercise daily and again, as in his youth, found sports shape. Surprisingly, now he had 3 times less food than before. The taste sensations also became brighter, so that every meal turned into a small holiday!
How to regulate weight? Fletcher's famous experiment at the American military academy at West Point made a huge impression. Two groups took part in it: plump officers and thin soldiers. During the experiment, with the same diet, they all gained normal weight only thanks to proper chewing: the officers lost weight, and the soldiers gained weight. As a result, it was proven that chewing food thoroughly alone improves health and helps restore normal weight. A follower of this method was the famous American millionaire John D. Rockefeller, who lived to be 98 years old.
The benefits of thoroughly chewing food have long been known in the East. Yogis claim that digestion (and even the absorption of energy from food) begins in the oral cavity, and food is well absorbed by the body only if it is well crushed during chewing and abundantly moistened with saliva.
Many people remember the famous yogic motto: “Eat liquid food, drink solid food.” This means that even liquid food (juices, decoctions, milk, etc.) must be chewed in the mouth, mixed with saliva. And solid food needs to be chewed longer than usual, turning it into liquid. Yogis chew each piece 100-200 times, and for good reason: an experienced yogi can be completely satisfied with one banana or a crust of bread.
It has been noticed that overweight people tend to eat too quickly. In this case, the saturation center in the brain does not have time to turn on. This usually takes 25-30 minutes. and no matter how much you eat in these minutes, true satiation will come later, so it’s hardly worth rushing.
Active chewing improves blood supply to the brain, heals the nasopharynx and gums, and protects teeth from caries (saliva neutralizes the acid and sugar of food). For more efficient functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, it is also useful to train the abdominal muscles, as yogis do.
Squat down in cat pose (bidalasana). In this position, the movement of the abdominal muscles is clearly felt. exhale, gently pull your stomach, as if trying to bring your navel closer to your spine, and inhale, release. Repeat 10 times, spending about 1 second on each movement. After a short rest, repeat. Do 3 series of such movements in total.
Sitting in a cross-legged position, lean forward with your hands on your knees. As you exhale, strongly tighten the front wall of your abdomen. While the natural breath-hold lasts, repeat the pull-up up to 10 times. As soon as you feel the urge to inhale, immediately release your stomach. This exercise is performed only on an empty stomach. Tummy tuck is a powerful way to improve digestion and improve internal organ health, so try to do it regularly.
What I like most is R.G.’s detailed description of the therapeutic (thorough) chewing method. Shavkunov.
Chewing food for a long time is the path to healing the gastrointestinal tract and the whole body.
I am 77 years old, a mechanical engineer by education. Until 1975, I lived like everyone else: I worked, ate meat, chewed quickly. At lunchtime he had time to play chess or dominoes, went in for skiing, and had a first category. One day, after a hike, I caught a cold and went to the hospital with severe arthrosis of the hip joint. The doctors rendered a verdict: “Bed for the rest of my life.” This didn't suit me. He began to fight. I met G.S. Shatalova, listened to her convincing
course on rational nutrition. I switched to vegetarian food and gave up alcohol. I got acquainted with and became interested in healing the body with the help of long chewing according to Fletcher. I completed a strict course of such chewing and lost 15 kg of weight. I struggled for 2 years, and after 3 years I was already running an ultramarathon. I applied the method of medicinal chewing in Akademgorodok near Novosibirsk, where I led a health group. The effect was amazing - 200 people forgot about their illnesses, became healthy and ran 10 km every day, and 50 people ran an ultra-marathon: 250 km, 50 km a day. Naturally, great interest arose in understanding those patterns and mechanisms of the human body that help awaken such great possibilities.
One of the main provisions of the proposed method of self-healing is prolonged chewing when eating. This system arose intuitively after becoming familiar with the Fletcherism technique (the movement arose in England in the 19th century and promoted long-term chewing, achieving great success in improving people's health). There is a well-known Chinese proverb: “If you want to be healthy, take 50 chews per sip.” Do you want to be a long-liver?
- 100 chews. Do you want to be immortal - 150 chews.” This folk wisdom speaks of the great healing potential of long-term chewing. The proposed system of long-term medicinal chewing has been tested on ourselves and others more than once over the course of 12 years. She always gave the expected positive results.
How do we usually eat? We never think about this. For us, the main factor is time. We have no time to eat, we have no time to eat. In the morning we are late, grab a piece of bread or something else and swallow it on the go. Lunch 40-50 minutes: you need to talk, relax, play chess, dominoes, but not food. She walks parallel, on the move. Within 5-10 minutes we were full.
What we eat is something tastier and faster, that is, food has become a true pleasure for us, even a pastime. Or it could be different. We can sit at the table for hours, devouring countless amounts of food and, worst of all, we enjoy it.
We forget that we will have to pay for this, sometimes cruelly: 3/4 of the stomach is cut off, pancreatitis, cholecystitis and many other diseases. All living things in nature (except modern humans) treat the process of digestion with great attention, trying to get from this process everything that is inherent in nature.
Modern medicine defines digestion as a physiological process, as a result of which food entering the digestive tract is processed (mechanically and chemically), which is necessary for its absorption by the body. Proteins, fats and carbohydrates contained in food can be absorbed only after breaking down into simpler chemical compounds. These nutrients are broken down
in the digestive tract with the participation of accelerators of chemical reactions - biological catalysts or enzymes that are produced by the cells of the digestive glands (salivary, gastric, pancreatic, intestinal) and are part of the juices secreted by these glands into the lumen of the digestive tract. Subsequent absorption of the broken down products and their transportation within the body ensure their supply to the cells in need.
Through the works of I.P. Pavlov established the following:
1. The work of the digestive glands is controlled by the nervous system.
2. The amount of secreted juices, their composition and properties depend on the composition of the food and other conditions (for example, mood).
3. All parts of the digestive system work in harmony, interacting with each other.
4. The functioning of the digestive glands changes when moving from one dietary regime to another.
Processing of food during prolonged chewing occurs as follows. Food crushed by teeth interacts with secreted saliva and chemoreceptors in the oral cavity, which send information about the chemical composition of food to the brain, from where information about the necessary correction of the chemical composition of saliva is received to create the best conditions for its further processing and assimilation. Part of the food taken into the mouth, processed by saliva, is absorbed into the blood directly in the oral cavity. This allows you to process a significant part of the carbohydrate component, most quickly satisfy part of the nutritional needs of the body's cells, eliminate overeating and create the most favorable conditions for food processing in the stomach, duodenum, small and large intestines. In this case, the carbohydrate component (bread, porridge, pasta, potatoes) is processed mainly in the mouth, duodenum, and the protein component (meat, fish, legumes) is processed in the stomach.
The most favorable conditions are created for separate digestion and the most complete absorption of proteins, carbohydrates and other nutrients supplied with food. We get feelings of satiety with food much faster with 2-4 times less food consumption. Energy costs for food processing are significantly reduced, and the saved energy is used by the body to restore and heal all parts of the gastrointestinal tract. and all this can be obtained after a 5-week cycle of long-term medicinal chewing according to the following scheme.
Therapeutic chewing scheme
The first week - each spoon of food placed in the mouth (breakfast, lunch, dinner) is chewed for one minute.
Second week - two minutes. Third week - three minutes.
Fourth - two minutes. Fifth - one minute.
Chewing is ideal: one chew for each existing tooth and three for each missing tooth.
As a result, a conditioned reflex is formed to chew food for a long time (30-40 seconds). Experience shows that long-term medicinal chewing cures almost all diseases, since during chewing all body systems are included in this process: digestive, nervous, endocrine and others. First of all, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract are treated: stomach ulcers, gastritis, duodenitis, pancreatitis and even diabetes. The functioning of the esophagus is normalized (its diverticula are eliminated) and the large intestine. The liver is cleansed, nervous diseases and diseases of the thyroid gland, appendicitis are treated. At the same time, the process of weight normalization occurs: in five weeks, excess weight is reduced by 5-10 kg, and underweight returns to normal. Metabolism is normalized.
Let's look at two examples of eating.
First. Fast food, lack of attention to the process of eating, and similar circumstances. Food, without lingering in the mouth, quickly enters the stomach, where hydrochloric acid is produced in the upper part. Its effect on a mixture of proteins, fats and carbohydrates causes fermentation and the formation of mash, the release of alcohol. Moonshine can be distilled from this mixture. Next, the food must become alkalized and go into the duodenum, but the pylorus (the valve from the stomach to the duodenum) does not allow it until the pH (an indicator of the chemical composition of food) is 7.8 (this is the pH value in the duodenum). A healthy gatekeeper waits until the pH reaches this value. The body spends energy and resources on this. But that's what happens when you're young.
Over the years, due to a decrease in the body's energy capacity when eating fast, the pylorus becomes anemic and it stops working. as a result, undigested food goes into the duodenum, and it, either due to the discrepancy between the pH of the incoming food and the pH that nature has laid down in its work program, returns it back to the stomach, or to the small intestine, which, if healthy (has the necessary enzymes and vitamins due to the presence of the necessary bacteria), can digest this content.
And if there is dysbacteriosis, then the food enters the large intestine, where it sticks to the walls, and the nutrients necessary for the body are sucked out of this mixture. Whereas this should have happened in the duodenum. As a result, layers in the form of stones form on the walls of the large intestine, which are very difficult or impossible to get rid of. Here is the source of all diseases.
In that part of the large intestine where adhesion and stones formed, its reflex activity decreased. The active points of many organs are stuck. They have lost contact with the food that is currently there. Control system communication is interrupted
digestion, absorption and excretion with the contents of the large intestine. So, if it is in the sigmoid colon, then prostatitis, diseases of the genital organs, infertility, etc. are generated. The deposits themselves tend to grow and can reach several kilograms, changing the location of the abdominal organs and disrupting their function.
In addition, the proteins contained in such a mixture begin to undergo the process of rotting, contributing to the death of the microflora necessary for the body, a decrease in immunity, and the production within the body of the substances it needs in the quantity it needs at the moment. Therefore, among people with this attitude to nutrition, practicing doctors, as a rule, do not meet adults with a completely healthy gastrointestinal tract. Nutrition is an ancient, very important biological function of the body. When we read a newspaper, talk, watch TV, eat while standing, we voluntarily unbalance the mental process associated with the function of nutrition, causing harm to the body, which sooner or later may manifest itself in gastrointestinal disorders, nervous disorders and others directly or indirectly related to nervous activity and painful manifestations.
Filling the consciousness with other information not related to digestion, negative emotions lead to a decrease in blood circulation in the digestive system, creating a chain of various interconnected changes in the activity of the endocrine glands and the functioning of the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, a person should not eat in an excited state, but should eat slowly, concentrating on the sensations in the area of the tongue and palate.
Second. We strictly monitor ourselves: we chew the food slowly and well so that it turns into a soft pulp and, as it were, slides down into your esophagus. Then such food will be easily digested, and you will not experience any unpleasant sensations in the stomach or intestines, no heaviness, no pain with different contents of the original food. The food you eat will be easily absorbed in your body, which will digest its beneficial components and absorb into the blood everything necessary to obtain muscle strength and energy, in short, for life. Such an organism will be able to eliminate all unnecessary substances and toxins through feces and urine, ensuring both digestion and the production of substances needed by the body. All microflora of the gastrointestinal tract will work optimally. Since digestion will be excellent, waste elimination will occur without any difficulty. Every morning, when you get out of bed, you will feel the natural need to have a bowel movement without the use of medications. Your bowel movements will always become regular, normal and light. At the same time, you will have excellent sleep.
During feeding, the receptors of the tongue and palate send to the nervous
system of impulses carrying information about the nature of food taken. at this time it is necessary for the tongue to be in contact with food for a long time, increasing the eating time. Distraction of attention by other mental activities interferes with the management of the nutritional process. Consciousness must monitor what is happening in the mouth. Meditation (focusing on the process of processing food in the mouth) while eating promotes a faster feeling of fullness and is a remedy against obesity. Therefore, you need to eat in a pleasant and calm environment, and everyone can do this on their own, no matter where they are.
Successes in quickly eliminating the symptoms of diseases (and not their causes) with the help of various medications allowed the founders of modern medicine to push Fletcherism into the shadows. But the modern crisis of this same medicine makes a return to Fletcherism and its modifications relevant. The author's experience and practice confirm this. The long-term chewing method has a number of advantages over separate feeding. They boil down to the following.
— Therapeutic chewing is available to everyone and does not require medical supervision.
— Therapeutic chewing is a process of separate nutrition in its purest form, since any food consisting of proteins, fats and carbohydrates is digested separately: its carbohydrates are digested in the mouth and small intestine, and its protein components are digested in the stomach.
— The body smoothly and gradually, with the usual diet, normalizes all systems of the gastrointestinal tract and restores the natural capabilities of the immune system without disturbing the body’s established system of biorhythms.
— Therapeutic chewing requires the least amount of energy to restore body systems compared to other methods. Therefore, the resulting savings in the body’s energy allow the greatest of its restoration capabilities to be realized.
— Ensures the health of the entire body and its systems:
digestive, nervous, immune and others.
— A significant reduction in food consumption (2-4 times) prevents the appearance of excess weight after a course of therapeutic chewing, reduces food costs, reduces the amount of toxins formed in the body, facilitating the functioning of the excretory systems, promoting their health.
— A conditioned reflex is naturally developed - the habit of prolonged chewing after the end of the treatment cycle, which can persist for years with occasional repetition of the therapeutic chewing cycle. This cannot be provided by any other healing system, including any type of fasting.
— A signal for repeating the cycle of therapeutic chewing can be the appearance of plaque on the tongue in the morning.
And now for examples.
Andrey K. turned to me for help. He weighed 240 kg. I lost weight more than once, but then it increased even more. After becoming acquainted with the system of therapeutic chewing, I began to lose weight and in 8 months of constant therapeutic chewing I lost 100 kg.
Two women from Armenia weighed 100 kg and 120 kg. After therapeutic chewing, they weighed 65 kg and 70 kg, respectively.
My neighbor Kostya was hospitalized with a stomach ulcer - a perforation. His mother turned to me asking for help. I advised him to be discharged from the hospital with a signature. Kostya began chewing carefully according to the medicinal chewing pattern. Stopped eating meat products. A month later he was healthy. Now he chews for a long time.
Alyosha from the village of Pokrovskoye, Ryazan region, suffered from a stomach ulcer. I chewed for one month according to the medicinal chewing scheme. A month later he was healthy.
Patient N. was admitted to Moscow Hospital No. 81 in November 1998 with a diagnosis of a bleeding stomach ulcer. The hospital doctors insisted on immediate surgery, but the patient refused and switched to medicinal chewing. For 21 days I chewed each spoonful of food (porridge with water) for 3 minutes. After 21 days he was discharged from the hospital. The ulcer has healed. Since 1998, she periodically uses medicinal chewing. There are no relapses of peptic ulcer disease.
Patient L., age 62 years, suffered from insulin-dependent diabetes and asthma. It took her about two years for complete healing with a relatively low level of self-organization in carrying out therapeutic chewing.
There are many other examples.
My main idea is the combination of two natural techniques. Dry fasting cleanses the body well, normalizes metabolism, it is very good, natural weight loss, the stomach decreases and acquires its normal volume. on the other hand, after fasting, rapid recovery processes are observed in the body. Cells actively absorb nutrients, and if you do not limit yourself in nutrition at this time, your weight will quickly reach the previous norm and, most likely, exceed it by several kilograms. If you immediately begin to use the method of medicinal chewing at the exit, the stomach will never stretch, the body will perfectly absorb all nutrients, and accordingly, the restoration and rejuvenation of the body will be optimal. I have never seen a single person gain weight when combining these two methods. On the contrary, even at the exit it begins to fall again.
As always, everything is very simple, you just need to exert a little willpower and patience.
I usually give these recommendations to all my overweight patients. Switch to a certain diet, cleanse the intestines and liver (you will learn about this in the next chapter). We need to start with the weekly 24
hours of wet fasting. Sometimes some fasted up to three times a week for 24 hours. In other words, they ate one day and fasted the next day. If a person allowed himself to eat too much during the days he ate, then 24-hour fasting several times a week quickly caused him to lose this weight. Then they reach a three-day wet fast, and only then begin to do waterless fasting days.
I have written in more detail in the next chapter. At our Center, they mainly undergo combined fasting, several courses. It looks something like this: five days of dry fasting, five days of wet fasting, seven days off, then everything repeats again. There is no point in fasting for more than 10 days, since weight mainly falls in the first
7-10 days. During such courses you can naturally lose from 15 to 30 kg, but you can do more - it all depends on your weight and goal.
Here are some simple tips for those who violate the food regime, the implementation of which will help achieve a common goal - lose weight, lose weight.
1. To take your mind off thoughts about food, try to do some interesting activity, read a book, go to the cinema, take a walk in the fresh air. Remember, boredom is your enemy, that is, the ally of overeating and obesity.
2. Place food on small plates to create the appearance of a large amount, take small amounts of food on a fork or spoon, cut thin slices of bread to create the illusion of larger portions. You need to eat slowly, then the feeling of fullness comes earlier.
3. If you need to go on a visit, before leaving, eat something dietary, for example, a salad, then it will not be difficult to resist the temptation to try something forbidden for you while visiting.
4. If you are very hungry and feel that you cannot stand it until your next meal, drink a third of a glass of milk in slow sips.
5. It is advisable to have scales in the house to constantly monitor your body weight. A control can be measured by measuring your waist with a centimeter tape in the morning: one centimeter of waist is one kilogram of weight.
6. Try not to visit confectionery departments and avoid being in the company of people with a sweet tooth. Remember: a piece of cake stays in your mouth for 2 minutes, in your stomach for 2 hours, but spends its entire life on your hips in the form of excess fat.
7. Be sure to exclude from food dishes and foods that increase appetite: spicy dishes, spices, smoked meats, etc.
8. Be sure to hang a medicinal chewing diagram in the kitchen so that it is always in front of your eyes while eating.
9. Ideally, it is better not to eat after 6 pm.
10. One of the main conditions for reliable, high-quality weight loss
— you need to program yourself in advance to the weight you want. take a piece of paper and with your left hand write down your desired weight in numbers and always keep these numbers before your eyes.

Treatment
Therapy must be comprehensive and can last up to six months. Taking medications is combined with physical therapy, proper nutrition and giving up bad habits. All drugs for mixed type VSD are strictly prescribed by a doctor, because this disease does not have an organic basis, and all organs and systems are healthy.
Treatment must necessarily include physical therapy and medications to relieve nervous tension.
Despite the numerous symptoms of mixed type VSD, which do not allow one to lead a normal life, they must be relieved with the help of:
- Sedatives.
- Tranquilizers.
- Antidepressants.
Effects of antidepressants
If you have severe stomach pain, indigestion or constipation, there is no point in taking medications to reduce the manifestation of these symptoms, since they will appear again in a short time.
A similar situation applies to other negative manifestations of mixed type VSD.
The following medications are most often used in treatment:
Name | Description | Price |
Afobazole | Selective anxiolytic. Take 1 tablet 3 times a day. The minimum course of treatment is a month. | From 390 RUR |
Anaprilin | Non-selective β-blocker. It has antianginal, hypotensive and antiarrhythmic effects. The exact dosage is determined individually by the attending physician. | From 40 rub. |
Adonis-Brom | Has a sedative and cardiotonic effect. Take 1 tablet 3 times a day. | From 65 RUR |
Atenolol Nycomed | Cardioselective beta 1-blocker. Take 25 mg per day. | From 50 rub. |
Valerian extract tablets | Sedative drug. Take 1-2 tablets 3 times a day. | From 50 rub. |
Paxil | Antidepressant. It is prescribed strictly by the attending physician, the dosage is determined individually. | From 750 RUR |
How to treat VSD of mixed type depends on the patient’s age, his individual characteristics and the reasons that provoked the unpleasant condition. All medications are strictly selected by the attending physician. In most cases, the use of antidepressants and sedatives has a positive effect on treatment.
VSD is a temporary malfunction in the body, which you can always get rid of if you follow all the recommendations of a specialist. On average, therapy takes 3 months, in severe cases – up to a year.
During treatment for RVNS ( a disorder of the autonomic nervous system ), it is important to eat properly and avoid harmful high-calorie foods.
Nutrition for VSD
The diet should include:
- Vegetables and fruits.
- Lean meats.
- Dairy products.
- Cereals.
- Fish products.
You need to eat often, but in small portions. For disorders of the digestive system, after 10 days of treatment with sedatives, you will notice a positive result.
The duration of the course of therapy is determined by the doctor and, despite visible improvements, it is not recommended to stop treatment on your own.
VSD of mixed type is a disorder in the functioning of the autonomic and nervous systems. The sooner therapy is started, the higher the chances of complete recovery in a short period of time. At the first signs of the disease, it is recommended to consult a psychoneurologist who can make the correct diagnosis and prescribe competent treatment.
What methods are used to treat VSD?
Treatment for mixed type VSD is selected individually and depends on the severity of the patient’s condition. It is worth noting that no methods can completely cure this syndrome, but therapy helps reduce the number of attacks, reduce the severity of symptoms and improve the general condition of the sick person.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is fundamental during therapy. For vegetative-vascular dystonia it is necessary:
- Get proper rest, setting aside at least eight hours for sleep. If possible, you should rest during the day.
- Rationally distribute physical activity. You can’t put too much stress on your body, but exercise should be present in the patient’s life every day. It will be useful to do swimming, cycling, aerobics, light jogging, skiing or skating. You should also take walks in the fresh air. Moderate regular exercises for mixed type VSD train the body well and help enrich the organs with oxygen.
- A contrast shower has a good effect on blood vessels.
- You definitely need to quit bad habits, such as nicotine and alcohol addiction.
A mixed-type diet for VSD implies a complete, balanced diet with the necessary content of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, as well as microelements and vitamins. You should eat more foods high in magnesium and potassium. Magnesium is found in sufficient quantities in:
- nuts;
- legumes;
- carrots;
- rosehip;
- whole grain porridge (buckwheat, wheat, oatmeal).
They contain a lot of potassium:
- potato;
- tomatoes;
- green pea;
- cabbage;
- beans;
- eggplant;
- beet;
- dill;
- sorrel;
- rhubarb;
- prunes;
- figs;
- raisin;
- apricots.
In case of VSD, it is necessary to exclude or reduce to a minimum the consumption of salty, smoked and spicy foods, coffee, strong tea, and chocolate. Instead of animal fats, vegetable fats should be included in the diet.
At the initial stage of the disease, there is no need to use medications. The following will help improve your condition:
- physiotherapy;
- physiotherapeutic procedures;
- massage of the collar area;
- working with a psychologist.
Such methods improve the functionality of the nervous system, vascular patency and blood supply to organs, normalize cardiac activity, and mastering psychotherapeutic techniques will help cope with attacks of panic, fear and depression.
Drugs
If there is no effect from non-drug therapy, which happens with an advanced form of the disease, it is necessary to take mixed medications for VSD. In order to cope with the manifestations of the syndrome, you may need to take:
- drugs that lower blood pressure if it has risen to critical levels;
- beta blockers to help cope with tachycardia;
- neuroprotectors that activate metabolism in the brain;
- antioxidants that protect body cells from oxidation and decay;
- tranquilizers that have a calming effect on the nervous system;
- antidepressants that can treat anxiety and depression.
Reasons for appearance
Vegetative-vascular dystonia (VSD) can debut in early childhood. It is most often associated with oxygen starvation of the child in the prenatal period and birth injuries. These pathologies disrupt the development of the nervous system, including its autonomic department.
In adolescence, the imbalance intensifies due to the growth of the skeleton and internal organs outstripping the possibilities of innervation and blood supply. Quite a significant contribution is also made by fluctuations in hormonal levels, the onset of menstrual function, addiction to tobacco and alcohol, and frequent neuro-emotional overload.
In adulthood, failure of the regulation of autonomic reactions can occur due to:
- infections;
- overwork;
- climate change;
- excessive sun exposure;
- occupational hazards;
- lack of sleep, night shifts;
- pregnancy, abortion, ovarian dysfunction;
- stress, depression;
- injuries
Treatment of nervous diseases
Many people are interested in the question of how to treat diseases of the nervous system. Remember: self-medication is dangerous, because irrational and inadequate therapy can not only aggravate the course of the pathology and cause harm, but also lead to persistent functional disorders that can seriously reduce the quality of life.
Symptoms and treatment of diseases of the nervous system are inextricably linked concepts. In addition to eliminating the main cause of the disease, the doctor prescribes symptomatic therapy to improve the patient’s condition.
As a rule, nervous diseases are treated in a hospital setting and require intensive care. Medicines, massage, physiotherapy are prescribed, but sometimes surgical operations are also performed.
Diseases of the nervous system form an extensive list, which consists of various pathologies and syndromes. The human nervous system is a very complex, branched structure, the sections of which perform different functions. Damage to one area affects the entire human body.
Disruption of the central and peripheral nervous systems (CNS and PNS, respectively) can be caused by various reasons - from congenital developmental pathologies to infectious lesions.
Diseases of the central nervous system can be accompanied by various symptoms. A neurologist treats such diseases.
All disorders of the central nervous system and PNS can be divided into several broad groups:
- vascular diseases of the nervous system;
- infectious diseases of the nervous system;
- congenital pathologies;
- genetic disorders;
- oncological diseases;
- pathologies due to injury.
It is very difficult to describe all kinds of diseases of the nervous system with a list, since there are a great many of them.
Disorder factors include:
- A history of closed or open traumatic brain injury , while the appearance of RVNS can be observed in people with birth trauma;
- Previously suffered brain diseases , including inflammatory and non-inflammatory pathologies;
- The period of hormonal transformation can trigger the development of the disease. Also, VSD of a mixed type is observed against the background of previously suffered, acquired diseases of the endocrine system, an imbalance of the latter probably contributed to the development of dysfunction of the nervous system;
- Constant stressful situations are an environment for the development of VSD.
- Overwork at work, both physical and mental , leads to disruption of normal brain activity, exhaustion of its compensatory capabilities, and suppression of adaptive capabilities in diseases of this origin;
- Leading an antisocial lifestyle - taking drugs, alcohol, smoking - leads to a decrease in the body's protective functions, a decrease in the efficiency and restoration of nerve cells, which leads to a decrease in their number and destruction of nervous tissue, which is ultimately expressed in such diseases.
What are the causes of VSD
First of all, the cause of the pathology may be a hereditary predisposition. Against this background, factors that provoke the development of pathology may arise:
- great physical and emotional stress;
- lack of sleep and dietary errors;
- traumatic brain injuries;
- infectious diseases of acute and chronic course;
- exposure to toxins and carcinogens from alcohol and smoking;
- physical effects from radiation exposure;
- hormonal imbalance in diseases of the endocrine system.
People at risk include:
- those who have received a birth injury;
- working in physically or emotionally demanding work;
- emotionally unstable;
- having reduced immunity;
- those who have anomalies of body constitution;
- allergy sufferers, diabetics;
- during the period of hormonal changes (during puberty, pregnancy, menopause, after an abortion or miscarriage).
Attention! Regardless of the reasons, without treatment, VSD can lead to complications such as coronary heart disease, hypertension, gastrointestinal ulcers, bronchial asthma, etc.
Variants of the course of vegetative-vascular dystonia according to the mixed type
Depending on the characteristics of the course, the mixed form (sympathetic-parasympathetic) can have several varieties:
- generalized – several systems are affected (for example, cardiovascular and respiratory);
- systemic – damage to only one system;
- according to the frequency of appearance of symptoms - constant and paroxysmal;
- light, medium and heavy.
Attacks of VSD can be mild (few symptoms, last no more than 15 minutes), moderate (moderate number of symptoms, last up to half an hour), severe (many manifestations, lasting from an hour).
Tumor pathologies
Tumors can be located in any organ, including the brain and spinal cord.
Oncological disease of the human nervous system develops between the ages of 20 and 55 years. Tumors can affect any part of the brain.
Tumors can be either benign or malignant. Lymphoma of the central nervous system is common.
The presence of a brain tumor is accompanied by various symptoms. To diagnose the disease, it is necessary to conduct an MRI examination of the brain. Treatment and prognosis largely depend on the location and nature of the tumor.
VSD and the army
Persons with persistent vegetative-vascular disorders that are permanent in nature are not accepted into the army. But before this, the young man will have to go through many stages of diagnosis, examination, and possibly even treatment in a hospital.
People suspected of VSD undergo a special medical commission, which is obliged to find out: the type of VSD, the nature of the complaints (they are temporary or permanent), whether heart rhythm disturbances are observed, how the experienced symptoms affect performance.
It is to perform a complete diagnosis that a person is sent to a hospital. After examination, he may be declared healthy and fit for duty, temporarily unfit with a referral for treatment, or completely unfit. Temporarily unfit young men are sent for treatment of VSD and, based on its results, the possibility of military service is determined. If the treatment does not help, then the person is considered completely unfit and is released from the army with a corresponding note on the military ID.
Can people with this disease be drafted into the army?
In itself, such a diagnosis, if there are no concomitant diseases, is not an indication that a guy is unfit for military service, because mixed-type VSD and the army are compatible. During the commission, the conscript must report that he has veto-vascular dystonia and tell the military doctor about all the symptoms present. It is especially worth emphasizing cardiac signs.
If the clinical picture is too pronounced, especially against the background of increased systolic pressure, then the doctor may recognize the young man as unfit for service and decommission him, recording a diagnosis of any concomitant disease in the health column. But most often, doctors in the army believe that regular physical activity, sleep and nutrition according to a schedule, as well as an abundance of fresh air during training will have a positive effect on the soldier’s health and to some extent relieve him of neurocircular dysfunction.
A disorder of the neurocircular system can cause a noticeable deterioration in the quality of life, but with timely medical consultation, diagnostic examination and adequate treatment, the patient’s condition improves significantly, symptoms go away, which allows the person to lead a full life.
Symptoms of the disease
In children, signs of VSD are most often associated with digestion - impaired appetite, frequent regurgitation, alternating constipation and diarrhea, tearfulness, restless sleep. For teenagers, cardiac symptoms come to the fore - heart pain, rhythm disturbances, changes in blood pressure, palpitations.
Psychoneurological manifestations include: frequent headaches, increased fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and high irritability.
As VSD progresses, disruption of regulatory processes can affect other body functions:
- breathing - frequent and shallow, inability to take a full breath, feeling of lack of air, paroxysmal suffocation;
- blood circulation - fluctuations in blood pressure, pulse rate, stagnation of blood and lymph;
- thermoregulation – hot flashes followed by chilliness;
- digestion - abdominal cramps and pain, heaviness in the stomach, nausea, unstable stool.
Adult patients are characterized by genitourinary disorders - sexual weakness or lack of orgasm, frequent urination or difficulty in urinating. Often the main signs of VSD are: unmotivated weakness and a constant feeling of fatigue, anxiety and tearfulness, difficulty falling asleep, and weather dependence.
Clinical picture of the disease
Diagnosis of VSD begins with a history and physical examination. To make a correct diagnosis, it is necessary to exclude somatic diseases that may cause such symptoms. For this purpose, laboratory and instrumental research methods are used:
- general blood and urine tests, as well as a blood test for hormonal activity;
- ultrasound examination of the thyroid gland and abdominal organs;
- electrocardiogram and ultrasound of the heart to exclude cardiac pathologies;
- magnetic resonance or computed tomography;
- Dopplerography of blood vessels;
- chest x-ray.
You should definitely consult with an ophthalmologist, endocrinologist, cardiologist, neurologist, pulmonologist, or therapist. Only after an accurate diagnosis of neurocircular dystonia is made, the doctor can decide how to treat VSD of the mixed type.
About a hundred clinical symptoms related to VSD have been noted. However, no two patients with the same symptoms can be found. The disease does not have constant characteristic symptoms, since the disease itself is variable.
The most common complaints when seeking medical help are:
- Pain in the heart is not clearly expressed, of low intensity. Discomfort in the form of “heaviness in the heart” occurs after stress.
- Arrhythmia is manifested by alternating attacks of tachycardia and bradycardia, when the number of heartbeats goes beyond normal limits.
- Unstable blood pressure - in the morning, as a rule, low, in the evening - high, but may be normal.
- An unreasonable headache may also be a reaction to inadequate physical activity or emotional stress.
- Intestinal disorders, pain in the intestinal tract without a clear picture.
- Problems in the sexual sphere - female anorgasmia, erectile dysfunction in men.
- Attacks of panic and anxiety, flashing “spots” before the eyes.
- Pathology of vasomotor reactions is an important sign of neurocirculatory dystonia. Externally, it is characterized by pallor, redness of the skin or chills at normal room temperature, depending on the condition of the blood vessels.
- Poor thermoregulation, manifested in the form of unreasonable changes in body temperature.
- Increased sweating - on the palms, under the arms and in other areas.
- Emotional instability – frequent mood swings, touchiness, prolonged experience of events.
- Asthenic syndrome – fatigue, loss of strength, shallow sleep, high threshold of pain sensitivity.
In a critical condition, the patient's health sharply deteriorates: there is a temporary loss of coordination and speech, sweating, weakness, drowsiness, hand tremors, nausea, loss of hearing and vision. The cause is most often stressful events accompanied by strong feelings.
The diagnosis of “vegetative-vascular dystonia” cannot be a basis for removal from military service. In case of persistent surges in blood pressure, heart pain, fainting and disappointing results of treatment, the conscript will be considered temporarily unfit for service, and a corresponding note will be made on the military ID.
Complications of cerebral vascular dystonia of mixed type
For the sympathetic-parasympathetic variant of dystonia, a characteristic feature is the appearance of crises, in which features of activation of both parts of the autonomic system are simultaneously present. These attacks include signs of an adrenaline rush:
- intense headache of a spastic nature;
- frequent and increased heartbeat;
- pain in the heart area;
- hot flash;
- increased blood pressure;
- hand tremors, chills;
- feeling of fear, increased anxiety;
- upon completion, a lot of light-colored urine is released.
Parasympathetic reactions are associated with an intense supply of insulin into the blood, a decrease in blood sugar, and activation of the digestive system. Vagoinsular crisis manifests itself:
- slow heart rate;
- dizziness, darkening of the eyes;
- decreased blood pressure;
- sudden weakness;
- feeling of heartbeat fading;
- shortness of breath;
- sweating;
- redness of the skin;
- bloating, diarrhea.
Since the two sections of the autonomic system have multidirectional effects on the body, during a mixed crisis there are sharp transitions from one state to another - fluctuations in pressure, pulse, changes in the frequency and depth of breathing. At the end of the attack, asthenia sets in - general weakness, loss of interest in the environment, loss of appetite.
What are the symptoms of mixed type VSD?
Since the vegetative system covers the activity of the entire organism, except for the skeleton, the signs of VSD of the mixed type can be varied. The most important of them:
- change in sensitivity;
- psychoemotional disorders;
- respiratory system disorders;
- disorders of cardiovascular activity;
- neurological problems;
- disorders of the digestive tract;
- panic attacks, feeling of unreality, etc.
A person with mixed type vegetative-vascular dystonia may experience the following symptoms of varying frequency and severity:
- dizziness and migraines;
- feeling of weakness and increased fatigue;
- sleep disorders - drowsiness during the day and insomnia at night;
- unreasonable fear and anxiety;
- surges in pulse and blood pressure, both up and down;
- shortness of breath and a feeling of “lump in the throat”;
- painful or unpleasant sensations in the abdomen and heart;
- numbness and coldness of the extremities, tremors, goosebumps.
